Simorgh Alborz defeated Shaheen Asmayee 3-1 in the opening match of the 2015 RAPL main event. A jam packed AFF Stadium witnessed Simorgh comfortably steal the show and surprise Shaheen.
Simorgh's first goal was scored during the 4th minute by their captain Munirulhaq Nadim and they kept building that momentum throughout the remaining of the first half. It didn't take long for him to score the second goal for Simorgh at the 24th minute. Simorgh was in full control of the game during the first half.

Shaheen appeared stronger from the very beginning of the second half with multiple attacks and counter-attacks in an effort to catch up to Simorgh. However, Simorgh's tough defense line and goalie gave them a hard time to make any serious effort and score.

Shaheen kept attacking and Simorgh's defense finally made a mistake at the 61th minute which resulted in a penalty shot. Samiullah Mohammadi easily converted the penalty shot to a goal for his side.
That didn't stop Simorgh to make the efforts to score another goal. They scored their third goal by putting a penalty shot at the back of Shaheen's net at the 76th minute of the game.

That was all the action for the opening game at the AFF Stadium. Kabul witnessed its happiest day in the last few difficult months. The happiness, joy, and unity that football brought to this crowd is unmatchable.
