The Powerhouses Clash

11 Sep, 2015

Shaheen Asmayee will face De Maiwand Atalan later today at 3:30 PM at the AFF Stadium. This is their last game in the group stage and last window of opportunity to secure more points.

Shaheen  had a powerful comeback last Thursday defeating Toofan Harirod 3-0. They had lost their first game to Simorgh with a shocking 3-1 score.

Atalan had tied their first game with Toofan but surprisingly took home a 2-1 win against Simorgh this Wednesday. Now, they are leading Group B standings with hard earned four points.

Atalan is equipped with a well-seasoned and experienced  squad  this season. Their line of attack couldn't be stronger with players such as Sayed Baqer Mirsalimi, Mustafa Afshar, and  Faiz Mohammad Faizi. They have strong support in center and defense too.

If Shaheen appears with the same strong  and resolute spirit they displayed against Toofan, then no one will question a victory over Atalan at today's game. However, considering Atalan's fast pace in attacks and indisputable defense-line this will not be an easy feat to pull off!

The winner of today's game will go straight to the semi-finals. A tie would mean that we will have to wait for the next game's result between Simorgh and Toofan to predict the fate of the teams in Group B.

All of the group stage matches will start at 3:30 pm this season. The matches will broadcast live on TOLO TV, Lemar TV, Arman FM and Arakozai FM.  It will also be watchable on the RAPL YouTube page (www.youtube.com/afghanpremierleague).
