Mawjhai Amu and De Maiwand Atalan Face-off

Football fans will witness another thrilling match today, September 23, 2016 at Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) stadium. Mawjhai Amu, the north eastern region representatives, will meet its opponent, De Maiwand Atalan at 3:00 pm. The game will be the second game of Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) 2016 semi-finals. 

Atalan was kept out of RAPL 2015 championship after its 4-2 loss in a penalty shootout against De Spinghar Bazan in the semi-finals. Yet, the team successfully secured the 3rd place after standing brawny against Mawjhai Amu in its last match.

Despite having equal number of goals and points with Toofan Harirod, Atalan was granted a spot in the RAPL 2016 semi-finals after its victory over Toofan in the second group stage competition. Losing the contest to Shaheen Asmayee previously in the 10th game of group stage, Atalan are expected to be more vigilant and cautious today. To compete in the semi-finals, the team has gone through comprehensive exercises to assure a claim in this season. 

The rivals Mawjhia Amu secured the 4th place in RAPL 2015 in addition to winning the fair-play award. The team has two wins and a loss in this season so far. 

“Taking over Atalan is the main focus and objective for today,” said Masoud Qarizada, the well-known striker of Mawjhai Amu.” We worked on different plans to satisfy a triumph. The players ‘moral and enthusiasm are considerable,” he stated. 

Both teams will have their second face-off later at Atalan’s home on Monday, September 26, 2016.
