2016 RAPL Review: De Abasin Sape

8 Mar, 2017

De Abasin Sape team represents Khost, Logar, Paktia, Ghazni, Paktika, and Maidan Wardak provinces. The team played in all the Roshan Afghan Premier Leagues (RAPL) seasons; however, they failed to mark outstanding achievements.

To cross the stage line and break the deadlock, the team took more preparations and was focused to kick-off the 2016 season with a “to win” attitude. Six players from Kabul joined the team to boost Sape’s performance. They were trained and supervised by a new FIFA licensed coach. Putting all the changes together, the team was optimistic to be qualified for 2016 RAPL semi-finals.

Unluckily, the 2016 RAPL draw put De Abasin Sape in group “A”, known as death group, to compete with De Maiwand Atalan, Shaheen Asmayee, Toofan Harirod. Sape conceded 3-0 their first group stage match to Atalan. In the second group stage match, Shaheen Asmayee dethroned the team 5-0 and they ended the third game 0-2 to Toofan Harirod.

Including the fifth season, the team could not secure any spot in the RAPL semi-finals yet. With three losses and scoring no point, Abasin Sape came eight in the 2016 RAPL.
