Tofan started into the league like a storm

21 Sep, 2012

Tofan Harirod (The Storm) from Herat wiped out Simorgh Alburz in the last match of the first round of Roshan Afghan Premier League from the field in a strong match.

The team from Herat was able to dominate the middle field early on and to control the game from the beginning. This superiority has been rewarded in the 26th minute as Wahidullah converted a penalty kick to goal.

At 42nd minute the middle field player of Heart Gholam Roza Yahqoubi saw a yellow card.

Herat went to the half time break with a deserved 1:0 lead.

In the beginning of the second half the team of coach Gul Ahmad Gul Mohammadi was pressing Simorgh Alburz again with precise passes and fighting spirit in its own half. The more than 4000 spectators filling the stadium in Kabul didn’t have to wait long for the second goal. This time it was Hamidullah Karimi, who put the ball for Tofan into the goal.

As barely ten minutes later, at minute 58, Gholam Roza Yahqoubi scored for the third time, the impression in the stadium was that the game was over. But this impression was deceptive.

Simorgh Alburz put all its energy into the match and started attacking in waves.

At 78th minute it was Shah Mohammad, who scored for Alburz and gave new hope to the supporters of his team.

But these hopes eroded anew as Gholam Roza Yahqoubi scored his second and Tofans fourth goal at  minute 86.

With the 4:1 victory over Alburz, Tofan Harirod climbed at the top of Group B.
