Shaheen to stand against Simorgh

22 Sep, 2016

The Roshan Afghan Premier League (RAPL) 2016 group stage competitions brought up four teams to semi-finals. Shaheen Asmayee, Simorgh Alborz, Mawjhai Amu, and De Maiwand Atalan are the booked-qualified teams to claim a position in the fifth season. The first semi-final match will kick-off today, September 22, 2016 at 3:30 pm between Shaheen Asmayee and Simorgh Alborz.

Shaheen Asmayee, the RAPL 2015 runners-up, will hit the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) ground lacking Abudullah Abdali, Jamil Nasiri, Zainudin Sharifi, Kawash Haidari, and Samiullah Mohammadi in its line-up for today. These players are accompanying Afghanistan’s national beach soccer team in Vietnam who later will play against China and Japan. Unluckily, the team will not have its well-known defender, Sayed Mohammad Hashimi too, opening the defense line to more threats.

Shaheen has defeated Simorgh Alborz in most of group stage matches in RAPL series. This time, Shaheen seems to have an advantageous position as of playing at its home. However, Simorgh can wisely get advantage of the gaps that the rival suffers from.

Abdul Haq Faizi, the previous assistant coach to Shaheen, is advising Simorgh as assistant coach in RAPL 2016. Faizi expected to know more about Shaheens’s approaches and strategies.

Next time Shaheen will play against Simorgh in an away game on September 25, 2016.

Don’t miss the action! Catch the games live on TOLO TV, Lemar TV, Arman FM, and Arakozia FM. It will also be watchable on the RAPL YouTube page (www.youtube.com/afghanpremierleague).
