The 2015 RAPL kick-off press conference was held in the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF)  Stadium's VIP building today, Wednesday, August 27th at 10:00 AM.

In the presence of major national media outlets, Afghanistan Football Federation President, Keramuddin Karim confirmed that "the winner of the 2015 RAPL trophy will play in the SAFF Club Championship."  

The RAPL has played a major role in Afghanistan in encouraging football and sports among Afghan youth, easily the largest segment of Afghan society. The chance for the winners of the 2015 RAPL champion to play in the 2015 inaugural SAFF Club Championship is major step forward for Afghan sports and athletes to be recognized on an international level.

MOBY Group CEO in Afghanistan Shafic Gawhari, Roshan Company HR Director Shireen Rahmani, also spoke at the press conference.

Mr. Gawhari encouraged all the media outlets in Afghanistan to cover the RAPL news and widely promote the largest unifying sporting event in Afghanistan.

Roshan has been the title sponsor of the league since its inception three years ago and will remain the title sponsor for additional three years. "We are looking forward to another successful RAPL season with the cooperation of AFF and MOBY Group," Ms. Rahmani said.

The 2015 RAPL main event is set to kick off tomorrow, August 27th. The opening ceremony will start at 3:00 PM followed by opening match will kick off at 4:00 PM. Shaheen Asmayee, the two times RAPL title defending champions will go head to head with Simorgh Alborz, the winner of the inaugural Nawroz Tournament Cup.

This event will broadcast live on TOLO and Lemar TV channels and it will be covered live on all RAPL social media platforms.
